Women For Change Launches Digital Survivor Support Platform with Support from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives

We are incredibly proud to announce that, with the support of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) through the High Commission of Canada in South Africa, Women For Change (WFC) has officially begun developing our WFC Digital Survivor Support Platform — a safe, survivor-centred online space for those affected by gender-based violence (GBV).

For years, Women For Change has been a trusted safe space for thousands of South Africans seeking support, solidarity, and justice. Through our online community, we’ve amplified the voices of survivors, connected families of victims to vital help, and fought tirelessly for systemic change. Now, we’re taking the next step in this journey — bringing our mission into the digital age to make support accessible to every survivor, everywhere.

A Safe and Confidential Space for Survivors

The WFC Digital Survivor Support Platform will offer survivors a secure and confidential space to:

  • Report abuse safely
  • Speak directly with a WFC Community Manager
  • Access trusted support services and information
  • Raise awareness for missing or murdered women and children

This new digital platform builds on our years of community-driven advocacy and support, aiming to reach survivors across South Africa – including those in rural and underserved communities who may not have access to platforms like Instagram.

Shaping the Future of Survivor Support

As we design this platform, we want to ensure that it truly meets the needs of survivors, supporters, and our wider community. That’s why we’ve launched a short community survey to listen, learn, and co-create a digital space that reflects real experiences and offers meaningful help.

Your input will help us refine the user journey, improve our WhatsApp Support Line, and design digital tools that respond with empathy, safety, and care.

Be part of this journey. Help us shape South Africa’s first survivor-centred Digital Support Platform and expand our reach to support even more women and children across the country.

The survey takes just 3 minutes to complete. Click here to take our Survey.

Together, we can build a future where every survivor -no matter where they are – has access to the safety, support, and solidarity they deserve.
